Galadriel - The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power OST

For The Rings of Power, McCreary ended up composing 17 entirely new themes for the score. These new themes ranged from character-specific songs for most of the key players in the story to cultural and regional-inspired themes and even a new specific theme for the rings of power themselves. Each of these new themes is interwoven with one another. They build on one another while the story of The Rings of Power jumps from the Southlands to Lindon and Khazad-dûm to Númenor. As the plot and characters evolve, so too does the music.

"The Rings of Power" carries on this proud tradition through the dagger of Galadriel, in a way we haven't seen in Tolkien adaptations before. This subplot reaches its climax when, during the finale, she finally lets go of that weapon and allows it to be melted down as a key ingredient to create the three elven rings of power. Not only does this series of events neatly recontextualize what we thought we knew about those three rings, but it also allowed the sound design to add further magic to the moment. According to Damian Del Borrello:

If you've watched or read The Lord of the Rings, you know it focuses on Sauron's Control Ring. This golden ring was created as a way to manipulate the leaders of the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men who received powerful magic rings as gifts. Sauron's ring, often called The One Ring, corrupted an effort to bring the people of Middle-earth together after a great war against Sauron's old boss, Morgoth. 041b061a72
